How many books will eventually make up the Drum Series
Good question, but hard to answer at this time. Originally, the series was to be only three books, but it has grown to four in less than two years. I suspect many more books are possible, especially after the current (main) characters children grow into adults and start to make their way in the world. I see an interesting future for the children of Jefferson and Faye, as well as the grandson (William) of old Moses.
I have paid for the book, but it's been a while and no book yet.
Please contact the individual publishers of the book you ordered. It is often delayed due to the printers schedule, but by contacting the publisher you can determine the real reason. Contact WR Benton, ONLY, if the publisher does not seem to answer your questions.
Is the book, Missouri in Flames, historically accurate?
More or less to a degree. The raids by Quantrill and the robberies associated with the James gang are document history, as well as some of the characters in the book. Along with certain military units and some members of those units.
However, the actual dialog, as well as behaviors of certain individuals is from the writers imagination. Nonetheless, dialog and behaviors areare likely from what is known of the individuals...i.e., Jess did not curse and respected women, while "Bloody Bill" Anderson and some of the rest were cruel and suspected to be foul mouthed, though there is no evidence to say this is true.
Why is the book Simple Survival such a big book?
"Simple Survival, A Family Outdoors Guide" was never intended to be carried into the woods in a backpack. It is a guide to be reviewed or read in the comfort of your home. While it can be carried in the trunk of a car, or even in a backpack, it is simply a guide and not intended to be used as a survival manual. It was written to open your mind to survival and to get you thinking about survivial in the woods, following a terrorist attack, natural disaster, or maybe when your car breaks down on a back road.
